Climate change - it’s real and it's happening now. And it’s a hot topic! Record breaking heat creating a parched Earth; deadly, devastating fires spewing almost unbreathable air across the continent; 100 degree ocean temps creating more frequent hurricanes; straight line winds of 80-100 mph called “derechos”; tornados; heavy rains with frequent flooding and mudslides; etc., etc. Natural Spaces Domes has been designing, manufacturing, and building domes since 1970, always taking into account the local climate and environment. We build what we call “environmentally sane” housing. We chose the geodesic dome because it provided a method of building that is now called Sustainable Construction. The dome is extremely flexible and adaptive. It provides a safe living space due to its shape and extreme structural strength. Our dome structure can handle winds in excess of 200 MPH (322 KPH). We have dome homes with an “ignition proof” exterior surface, while building with wood from sustainably managed American forests. Our homes are designed to use natural, non-mechanical air flows to provide fresh air when the season allows. Because we can build unusually thick walls economically, we have extremely thick insulation in the roof and walls, way beyond what the codes have required, and we began doing that in 1970. We build ecologically, placing a premium on quality and providing bright, naturally lighted interior spaces. Natural Spaces Domes can help you design your living spaces to create a safe, healthy, energy efficient, emotionally comforting and calming home. The joy and fun of living in a dome home is what we have to offer your family. With our half century of dome experience, we know what works and what doesn't. Look to Natural Spaces Domes for the latest in building technologies and design for your new adventure in dome living. Dome Consultations
